Skrean is not another streaming platform chasing volume, trends, or algorithmic obedience. It is a digital grindhouse built from the ground up by a filmmaker — a small, stubborn altar for public domain horror, noir, pulp sci-fi, thrillers, and strange old cinema that still has teeth.
A hand-picked selection of public domain genre films: old nightmares, cult relics, radioactive classics, and beautiful celluloid wreckage rescued from the dust. No infinite catalog. No fake abundance. Just films chosen because they still pulse.
Every title is selected by hand. No recommendation engine. No synthetic taste profile. No endless scroll designed to numb your brain. Skrean is built for discovery the old way: by instinct, obsession, bad taste, and love.
These films may be old, but they are not harmless. Some are rough. Some are strange. Some creak like a coffin lid. Good. That is part of the ritual. Skrean exists to let these ghosts keep moving.
Skrean is currently live in a minimal, intentional form. The platform showcases curated public domain films for free while the project keeps evolving behind the screen: better infrastructure, sharper curation, cleaner playback, and a stronger identity.
Skrean was originally conceived as the future home of The Edge, a survival feature currently being developed by Skrean's creator, Frankie Doguet. Along the way, it became something bigger — a digital grindhouse built to prove cinema can live online without being flattened into algorithmic sludge and corporate sameness.
For now, Skrean is built around public domain cinema. Later, the goal is to bring in newer films, licensed titles, and original work — when the platform and audience are strong enough to do it properly.
