Shipwrecked on a fog-choked island, welcomed by a Russian count with a bow on the wall and hunger in his eyes. Count Zaroff has bagged every beast on Earth — except the one that thinks back. Pre-Code RKO sleaze, born in the same jungle that would soon become King Kong’s Skull Island, with Joel McCrea sweating through the brush while Fay Wray screams her way through the nightmare and Leslie Banks chews scenery like raw meat. Sixty-three minutes of pulp menace where the trophy room hides a secret and the hunt is only starting. A blueprint half the survival-horror and slasher bloodline would later steal.
